The debut FOCUS show since reopening brings you a driving force in Brooklyn’s underground techno scene. Volvox’s career has taken new heights as the famed resident DJ of Brooklyn’s gritty warehouse techno event, Unter. Her ability to connect with the dance floor with quality underground techno pretty soon launched her into playing at Berghain, Bassiani, Dekmantel, and many others. Joining her on the decks is another Brooklyn transplant, who has called DC his home for the last few years, Arthur Kimskii. A favorite of Nina Kraviz as her choice to warm up her shows, Arthur has played at Berghain and many notable techno events throughout the world.

VOLVOX:

A dominant force on the Brooklyn underground scene, Ariana is known for tough, stripped-back techno and groovy, acid-flavored sets. She has been a busy DJ and event producer since 2006 and in that time has shared the decks with many international stars including The Black Madonna, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, The Hacker, Legowelt and Mike Servito.Based in NYC since 2011, she holds two monthly residencies: JACK DEPT. NYC at Bossa Nova Civic Club 

Breaking out on the international scene in 2015 she has enjoyed a busy tour schedule including noted appearances at Dekmantel and two closing gigs at the ascendant Sustain-Release festival in upstate New York. She has toured extensively in Europe featuring standout gigs at De School in Amsterdam, Kaiku in Helsinki and repeat appearances at Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin. She has also toured South America, Australia and recently hit the Middle East for the first time. Ariana is a unique character on the US scene guaranteed to bring a high energy show that lights up dance floors with an undeniable spirit.

 

 

ARTHUR KIMSKII:

Arthur Kimskii has been involved with electronic music for two decades. Between Washington D.C. , New York and Berlin, Kimskii has managed to clock up quite a bit of notoriety. He enjoyed success in curating events in New York, which turned into production and label management before moving to Berlin. Having enjoyed several successful years curating events in New York, Kimskii turned to production and label management before moving to Berlin. Kimskii channels those international experiences into his production and his label L.A.G.’s aesthetic, which was charted by Radio Slave, Jamaica Suk, Stephanie Sykes, Alienata, among others. As a producer he's released music on Monday Off, Dusk & Haze, Mysteries of the Deep, Metro Xpress, On Board, Gradient Sound and L.A.G. Back in his hometown of Washington D.C. Kimskii produces a series of Queer positive events called Sprüdel.
