Born in Brooklyn, Moon Boots’ musical obsession started not long after he could walk. His early love of piano led to a passion for keyboards and synthesizers. He spent his teenage years getting lost in the works of Daft Punk, A Tribe Called Quest, and Herbie Hancock among others. After receiving an engineering degree from Princeton, he decided to shelve it in order to turn his focus to music. Classical melodies and warm harmonies are provided alongside club hits with the goal of giving you a night to remember. After leaving his mark at iconic clubs and festivals, Moonboots lands in the District to provide an otherworldly journey, Friday April 1st.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS: 

Moon Boots:

Moon Boots is the alter ego of Pete Dougherty. One summer morning, Pete woke up with an itch on the back of his neck. It was a classic good news / bad news dilemma. Bad news: he was possessed. Good news: he was possessed by a benevolent funky spirit who called himself Moon Boots. After a long stint in Chicago where he immersed himself in the house scene and taught himself production and DJing, Boots is proud to call Brooklyn home. His second album, ‘Bimini Road,’ named after the ruins of Atlantis found in the Bahamas, is coming out Sep 6th on Anjunadeep.
