We are thrilled to announce a special night dedicated to the DJs that help create memorable moments for us every weekend. These familiar names normally help warm up our dancefloors for the world class artists that headline Flash week in and week out. Now it’s Meegs, OG AG, Said Medina, KaylaSoul, and Mazi R’s turn to fill the void with their signature sounds. ABOUT THE ARTISTS: 

 

Mazi R:

Born in London and raised in Tehran, Mazi R’s love of electronic music is deeply rooted in the underground movement. Back-alley style parties run by a simple mixer and two portable CDJ players became his gateway into the industry.

Over the past decade, he has made his mark in the DC scene, playing at some of DC’s most popular venues. From his early days at Stranger Than Paradise, run by DC veteran producer Navbox, to his current residency at Flash, effective since 2015, Mazi has consistently contributed his sound to the community he calls home. This paved his way to opening for renown artists such as Damian Lazarus, Radio slave, Kevin Saunderson, Ryan Elliott and Jennifer Cardini.

Inspired by his upbringing in the 80’s and his extensive library, he demonstrates incredible versatility behind the decks, playing tracks ranging from Chicago house to Detroit techno and Berlin minimal. Mazi takes the crowd on an uplifting journey by crafting build-ups that carry energy, and incorporating vocals that create warmth.
