Montreal-native Deadbeat arrives at Flash for an extended LiVE set. Deadbeat's signature blend of "dub laden, minimal electronic" has been released through several labels and has been featured on-stage at international festivals including Sonar, Transmediale and Mutek. By combining his musical talent with his understanding of cutting-edge music technology Deadbeat will bless our dancefloor with techno and slamming dub tunes.

Parisian duo Masomenos, famous for their funky electronic style and artistic endeavors both on and off the dance floor, will be landing in DC to play in the Flash booth as well. Having released a massive discography featuring 4 albums and over 30 EPs orchestrated by DJ Joan Coates and producer Adrien de Maublanc this duo will hypnotize you with their lighthearted, psychadelic tunes.

Slope Traxx boss and Playlist partystarter Jubilee plays first. Audio Zen is back in FlashBar featuring MOdERN CLASS' Trev-ski, 4 Hours of Funk's Graham Hatke and Baltimore's Alex Gardel in command.

Deadbeat is one Scott Monteith, an adopted Montrealer who has been releasing his own special blend of dub laden, minimal electronics since 2000 for labels such as Cynosure, Intr_version, Revolver, and Scape.

Deadbeat has performed at some of the world's most respected festivals, including Barcelona's Sonar, Berlin's Transmediale, and Montreal's own Mutek. From 1999 to late 2003, Scott worked, assuming various roles, for the Montreal based company Applied Acoustics Systems, makers of the Tassman Software Synthesizer. Having now moved on to pursue his own musical efforts full time, the experience has left him with a passion for the development of new creative interfaces, and a strong grasp of some the most cutting edge technology in the industry.

Whether crafting quirky, not-quite-dancefloor techno, or rumbling digital dub,Scott continually strives to create music that honors the past beyond empty tribute or cultural appropriation, by infusing the digital tools of the present with a little of the magic known as human imperfection. Hindered only by the occasional buffer underrun or synapse misfiring, Scott continues to search for his own unique voice between the ones and zeros.

Masomenos

The so funky duo Masomenos, is a productive partnership between Joan Costes, a graphic designer and DJ, and Adrien de Maublanc, a producer and sound engineer. They both clearly have a ball with ‘Welcome to Masomenos' an audio-visual system they use to produce their spontaneous, lighthearted, psychedelic, no limits universe. It is a place where their 'Friends', a mischievous and multicolored bunch of animals that appeal to children have chosen to set up home with lots of other crazy characters in their outrageous, souk-style, flashy fuchsia colored shop that is simply unmissable, located at Masomenos, 34 rue du Mont-Thabor, Paris 1.

During hugely funny and inevitably brightly colored initiatives, the planet of Masomenos never ceases to revolve around, you will have guessed, its own very special sun - music. Because it is music and music alone, a passion shared by these two love- birds, that is the source, the reason, the vehicle, the springboard from which everything else follows.

Working like this they've released 4 albums, and over 30 eps and made lots of design collaboration, but that's another part of the story…
