David Waxman, Cali Lanauze

There are only a few people in the music business that are as multi-facited as David Waxman. From nightclub promoter, to nightclub manager, to DJ and producer, to A&R director and label executive at the largest electronic music company in the world, he is the epitome of diversity. He has mixed 15 compilations, selling over 1/4 million units in total, ranging from house to chilled, to club classics, to electro, to trance and you can hear this diversity in his live DJ sets. Whether he is playing at one of the largest clubs in in the country, or an ultra exclusive VIP club, he has a unique style that transcends genres.

This native New Yorker has been working professionally behind the decks for over 20 years and although starting off in the city that never sleeps, Waxman first gained notoriety during his residency in South Beach at the celebrity infested Liquid, where he was first to import the New York progressive sound that became popular for years to follow. Upon returning to the New York club scene, he was offered a monthly residency at the world famous Twilo. His monthly residency evolved into a weekly Saturday night residency opening for Junior Vasquez and David's 7 hour sets were praised by Mixer, Muzik and Mixmag magazines. Soon after, David was scouted by the Crobar nationwide club chain landing him as one of the residents at Crobar NY and Miami. He now can be seen and heard behind the decks at various clubs around America, but when he's not playing the hottest records on the weekends, he is signing them during the week to Ultra Records, where he is the head of A+R and General Manager.

Cali Lanauze was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a small island in Caribbean. Cali started in the music industry at a very young age; he was only 15 years old and since day one, he knew what he wanted. At his young age, he obtained support from many influential persons in the electronic music culture. At 22 years old, Cali has obtained the backing from people like: Carl Cox, Dj Sneak, Richie Hawtin, Radio Slave and others.

Now promoting and producing events in his native island of Puerto Rico, he is establishing his mark in the industry better than ever, alongside sharing the decks with dj’s like Art Deparment, Guy Gerber, Damian Lazarus, Lee Burridge, Dj Tennis & many more.

Cali, at his young age, has been able to do some releases on some of the most respected labels nowadays like Sleep is Commercial (Berlin), Daniel Sanchez label BlaBla (Amsterdam). In addition, last year, he achieved a hit single with a music track worked along his puertorrican friend Jonny Cruz on the prestigious My Favorite Robot Records (Canada) with a massive remix from Crosstown Rebels own Fur Coat.

More recently, Cali has been on the verge of really developing his sound and developing Puerto Rico’s scene. He has been working with Circoloco Resident Andrew Grant label Better on Foot; he has his debut EP on Silky's & Climbers label Faceless Recordings and has been playing in some of the most important clubs in North America from Miami to NY to LA to Washington DC. With more releases this year on elite labels, soon Cali will be bringing his deep grooves to the most important clubs worldwide.
