From global success in the commercial domain, to equal accomplishments within the underground scene, Dubfire is an artist whose drive, talent and intuition have placed him within the top tier of electronic music artists in the world. He maintains this position within the industry with an unrelenting work ethic and a focused determination to innovate, evolve, and entertain. Whether it’s his involvement with Deep Dish, his solo performances at an extensive list of the world’s most influential clubs and festivals, running his label SCI+TEC, or simply his exploration of audio and visual technology, Dubfire is in a class of his own and is resolute in his forward-thinking ethos. He will be joined by Italian acid-techno duo, 999999999.
999999999’s sets show off high BPM, nose-bleed techno accompanied by acid synth lines that are out of this world. The name for the duo perfectly symbolizes their mission within music, “something abstract that doesn’t feel the need to be defined; it is spontaneous, random, and without limit.” The Italian duo's goal and vision has always been solely about music and the quality of their releases. Instead of sending out demos, they founded their label NineTimesNine, and delivered a vinyl record as the label’s first release that would go on to sell out. From playing massive events around the world such as Possession, EXIT, Awakenings, Movement, Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT, and Amelie Lens’ Exhale; the Venice natives now bring their signature acid techno to DC for their Flash-OFF debut alongside DC’s very own Dubfire on Saturday, November 12th.
Musician, DJ and instrument builder Antenes resides in New York with her collection of self-made sequencers and synthesizers crafted from repurposed vintage telecommunications equipment. Known for her inventive soundscapes, Antenes treats the studio as a space for sculpting emergent patterns, textures, and percussion layers. Her productions and live performances draw influence from the curious and ephemeral sound world of the analog networking systems she uses as her instruments, and the atmospheric and mechanical aberrations inherent in their material. A Brooklyn resident by way of Chicago, her DJ sets dive into hypnotic, acid-laced techno, shimmering electro, shadowy atmospheres and beyond, with a particular ear for odd percussions and syncopations. She keeps busy behind the decks of underground events globally, including The Bunker New York, De School Amsterdam, Tresor Berlin, Corsica Studios London, Rural Festival Japan, Sound of Stockholm, ReWire Festival in The Hague and more.
