Welcoming the unique sound of Glasgow born talent Gary Beck as he makes his Flash debut Friday, March 13. Releasing music on a handful of the scenes top rated labels such as Drumcode, Cocoon, and Saved as well as his own BEK Audio imprint, Gary Beck’s driving tracks make for a superb Flash FOCUS. This one will be extending late, a Friday not to be missed.

Highly requested, UK underground techno influencer, Blue Hour joins the FOCUS lineup March 13th. Plunging into the scene in 2013 as Blue Hour, artist Luke Standing has released industry pivotal records with distinctive sounds driven by the spirit and energy of the '90s. His DJ sets are known for exploring a narrative of timeless music, blurring the lines between geography and scene, and time and space.

Heading the night on the Rooftop, Flash is excited to welcome CHKLTE from Germany for this night of FOCUS. Based in both Germany and Texas, CHKLTE is a resident DJ at Blacktone party out of Austin TX, while still venturing around the globe playing in international countries such as Germany, Canada, Romania, Czech Republic, UK & Bulgaria.

GARY BECK:

As a regular fixture at the world's top clubs and festivals, Glasgow born producer and DJ Gary Beck has long been established as a primary figure in techno.

Known and respected for his unique sound, he has gained support from

the best names in the business and released music on some of the genre's leading labels, including institutions such as Drumcode, Cocoon and Saved as well as his own BEK Audio imprint. Since his emergence onto the scene in 2007, Beck has accumulated an impressive list of achievements. Highlights include a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, two Boiler Room session’s, featured music on BBC 1 Drama ‘Stonemouth’,as well as numerous collaborations with exceptional talents such as MR. G, Green Velvet, Debra Debs, Mark Broom and Speedy J. 2012 saw the release of his seminal debut album 'Bring a Friend' on the legendary Soma Records label, and with a his second L.P ‘Dál Riata’ set to drop in November, it’s an exciting time in Gary’s production career. 

In terms of performing, Gary has appeared at some of the worlds largest and respected clubs and festivals, with shows at renowned venues such as Womb Tokyo, Fabric London,

Awakenings, T in the Park scotland, Spazio Rome, Output NYC, and Timewarp, to name a few. In addition to a busy performance schedule, Beck spends time as head of BEK Audio, an

imprint which has quickly become one of the most revered techno labels

on the scene after releases from the likes of Floorplan, Mark Broom, Slam, DJ Rush & Ritzi Lee.’ 

Gary say’s on approaching the 35th release “I initially set up the label as a release platform for my own music, however that quickly changed. I don’t put myself under any pressure with the releases. It simply has to be really good, and if it takes a year to find or make that gem, then so be it”

BLUE HOUR: 

From starting out promoting club nights in the UK, Luke Standing has been devoted to underground electronic music.

His first records under the names Furesshu and Esoteric experimented with swung and atmospheric techno, before he resettled in Germany and launched his resolutely independent project Blue Hour in late 2013. Since then, Standing has released pivotal records with a distinctive sound driven by the spirit and energy of the '90s, and in turn been welcomed into some of the most respected venues across the globe. Fuelled by his obsession with the early days of dance music, when genres like trance, jungle and IDM overlapped, his DJ sets explore a narrative of timeless music, blurring the lines between geography and scene, space and time. Beyond the platform originally started for his own productions, Blue Hour has since begun extending his reach towards other artists and releasing music from Dold and Alpha Tracks as well as his collaborative project as Tracing Xircles. An acclaimed Remixed series has also seen artists like Steffi, Pangaea and Answer Code Request re-working his music. Theres no doubt that Blue Hour has become part of the techno world, but Standing stands clearly apart within it.

CHKLTE:

As much a confectioner on the decks as he is in the studio, CHKLTE plays with a detailed delicateness that defies his towering stature. With vibrant, seductive blooms and deep, syrupy booms, his subtleties climb into the ear like tendrils.

A zealous 15-year-old Jonathan started sneaking into South Texas clubs to DJ after only a year of studying online tutorials & digging countless hours through the music crates the internet had to offer. Six years later in 2012, he became a resident of Austin TX and quickly became a regular guest at much respected local venues.. Fast forward to 2018 - 2019, now based between Berlin & Texas - Chklte is now one of the resident DJ’s behind the infamous Blacktone party out of Austin TX which regularly hosts numerous world renowned artists in the likes of Praslesh, tINI, Herodot, Priku, Alci, Afriqua & many more.

The move from Jonathan to “CHKLTE” spurned a series of releases on labels such as Vatos Locos (VL Recordings), Floorpiece, Melotherapy, Vuew, Honne Music & many more. With also forthcoming vinyl only releases set for winter of 2019 & spring 2020.

CHKLTE still revisits the trail he set in South Texas, and Mexico, and he has also began to venture around the globe including the well respected Club der Visionaere in Berlin, Germany as well as Canada, Romania, Czech Republic, UK & Bulgaria. — playing alongside world–renowned artists such as tINI, Sepp, Herodot, Ryan Crosson, Voigtmann, Raresh, Praslea & many more.
