Being raised in Detroit, it is no surprise that Magda fell in love with the music she plays today. The Polish born DJ/producer has been a constant force, while trends continue to come and go in the scene. She found early success in 1998 touring as Richie Hawtin’s opening DJ. Since then, the Berlin dwelling DJ has played on some of the most well known dance floors in Detroit, LA, New York, Miami, London, Berlin, Ibiza, Paris, Bucharest and so many more. Now, the Item & Things label boss is ready to push musical boundaries and express her unique style for a can’t miss night in the District.
She will be joined by Israeli native, Maayan Nidam. Having lived in all four corners of the world, Maayan currently resides in Berlin where she continues to develop her label Hellium. An integral part of the Parisian collective Yoyaku, Maayan continues to push the boundaries with each performance and release, her most recent album being “Sea of Thee” in 2018 followed by an EP titled Hellium 002 in 2020.

Magda:
MAGDA's realm as an artist spans far beyond the typical role of DJ and producer. With an open mind, Magda will try her hand at whatever feels right – from music technology collaborations and events to producing premium Tequila - creating a truly unique, multifaceted expression of herself.
Born in Poland and raised in Detroit, Magda discovered beauty and inspiration in raw urban landscape. In 1998, she joined Minus and began touring as Richie Hawtin's opening DJ.
In 2006, Magda established the Items & Things label and booking agency with Troy Pierce and Marc Houle. In 2017, she launched the Perm event series in Berlin…

Maayan Nidam:
Maayan Nidam, an artist in flux, continues to change, evolve and challenge boundaries both in her Berlin studio and on stage. She has built a reputation as a fine DJ and producer who favours a subtle approach towards mesmeric moments.
Her DJ sets, predominantly based in stripped-back, deep sounds, utilise an intriguing vinyl collection, using obscure interludes for re-contextualisation. This approach makes for some magical moments on the dance-floor, where a night’s highlight may come from the most unlikely of tracks.
As a musician obsessed about sound and the technology behind its creation, her workflow places a strong focus on the studio environment. Triggering chain reactions between guitar pedals, drum machines, modular synths and acoustic instruments, generating sounds in unpredictable, exciting ways.
Inspired by her 2014 performances as The Waves with an accompanying band, Maayan has developed a solo live set that allows her to further her studio experiments and take them on the road. With a flexibly evolving range of hardware, she re-creates the spontaneous frame of her productions, delving deep into the possibilities of live dubbing and improvisation, keeping the performance exciting for both the crowd and Maayan herself.
